It features an 18° field of view, improved performance in ambient light, and a ranging speed of up to 100 Hz. Its autonomous mode and programmable ranging parameters enable very low power consumption, making it ideal for battery-powered devices. Embedded on-chip processing reduces system design complexity and lowers bill-of-materials costs, allowing use of lower-power and more cost-effective microcontrollers. Like all ST FlightSense time-of-flight sensors, the VL53L4CD provides absolute distance measurements independent of target color and reflectivity.
