Remove the clear plastic sheet covering the battery compartment at the front and bottom to establish battery contact. 2. Turn on the finder using the rotary control on the side. Look through the front aperture to see the red dot; adjust brightness or turn off using the same control. 3. Mount the red dot finder in place of your standard optical finder. 4. Point the telescope at a distant, distinct object (e.g., a TV aerial or chimney). Using a low-power eyepiece (e.g., 25mm), center and focus the object in the main telescope view. 5. Adjust the red dot finder’s alignment so the dot overlays the centered object—use the right-front knob for left/right and the rear-bottom knob for up/down. 6. Turn off the finder and wait until dark. 7. To observe, turn on the finder, look through it, and align the red dot with your target. When the dot is precisely on the target, it will appear centered in your eyepiece. 8. Turn off the finder after use to conserve battery life.
