Ground loop video isolator, also known as ground loop audio-video isolator, is designed to eliminate interference in CCTV video or audio signals caused by ground loop voltage. Ground loop interference (GEI) occurs due to potential differences between the two ends of a video cable. This interference, caused by differing reference ground potentials in video signals, typically affects the shielding layer of the video cable and the outer casing of video equipment. Under normal conditions, the shielding layer voltage is 0V. When a ground loop exists, this level fluctuates around 0V, potentially causing severe video distortion, tearing, and interference such as horizontal lines, reticule patterns, or snowflake noise. Ground loop voltages are more likely to develop when video signal transmission exceeds 100 meters, and excessively high voltages may damage connected equipment.This single-channel video isolation device effectively isolates balanced input and output signals for audio or video applications.
