Cover with soil about 60cm deep to reduce odours. 3. If the climate is dry, add water to the damp compost when adding a new layer of materials. Also, dig a groove in the middle of the compost to save excess water. If the surface of the compost is shiny, indicates that it has enough water. 4. To speed up decomposition, turn the compost and add water every two weeks. 5. Decomposition is complete when the temperature no longer increases and the color of the compost darkens.
