The MPLAB PICkit 3 is a USB-based programmer and debugger designed for PIC and dsPIC Flash microcontrollers. It integrates with the MPLAB Integrated Development Environment to support firmware loading, real-time execution, and hardware testing. 1. Connects to a host PC via a full-speed USB interface and attaches to target boards through a Microchip debug RJ-11 connector compatible with MPLAB ICD 2, ICD 3, and REAL ICE standards. 4. Operates within a 2.0 volt to 6.0 volt range and features power, busy, and error diagnostic LEDs while reading, writing, and verifying microcontroller program and data memory. 5. Supports programming for 8, 14, 18, 20, 28, and 40-pin PIC16/18 family devices and handles flash storage up to 512 kilobytes with breakpoint freezing capabilities. 6. Constructed from red plastic with dimensions of 14.5 by 7 by 4 centimeters and ships with a USB cable, a 6-pin programming cable, and a universal programmer seat.
